Brando Rii Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2010-09-19

The Rii Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with touch pad from Brando is a multifunctional device that helps a lot during presentations, and also incorporates an easy to use laser pointer. The product can be easily recharged with the help of the included USB cable. You can use it with your iPhone, or as remote control for a HTPC.

Synchronizing the device

When I have plugged the USB Bluetooth dongle inside a spare USB port, Windows 7 x64 Ultimate instantly installed the necessary drivers:

Madshrimps (c)

To synchronize the device with our computer, we must go in Control Panel, to Devices and Printers section, Add a Bluetooth device; a simpler way is to click on the Bluetooth tray icon which appears after the drivers are install and select “Add a Bluetooth device”:

Madshrimps (c)

After selecting this option, we must turn the keyboard power on and click the Bluetooth key; the name of the keyboard will appear in the list:

Madshrimps (c)

For the synchronization to be complete, we must enter a code on the keyboard that is written on the screen:

Madshrimps (c)

The confirmation that the synchronization is successfully completed will follow:

The Iphone is not listed in the manual as a supported smart-phone, but it seems it works just fine:

I need to get one of these for my HTPC.

Good choice! The build quality does not feel cheap at all.

That's really neat. Is there anything like this that'll work with just a regular computer? I usually watch stuff through my laptop plugged into my TV and would love a nice wireless way to control it better.

this works with any PC that has a spare USB port (to plug in the bluetooth adapter, or use the build in adapter of your lappy)
