To test the power supply in both IDLE and Full Load, I have used the
OCCT 3.1.0 application, with its
Power Supply stress test suite; before testing each power supply, I let the computer function in IDLE for about 30 minutes.
To measure the wattage drawn from the wall socket, I have used a Kill-a-Watt-like (Wattmeter) device:
