AXLE RADEON HD 5450 512MB GDDR3 Video Card Review

Videocards/VGA Reviews by stefan @ 2010-07-02

The RADEON HD 5450 from AXLE is a passively cooled video card with a very precise purpose: to be used in a single or multi-monitor setup for 2D applications or watching High Definition movies. The 3D performance is low, can be compared to the 4550 and it is not recommended for the latest games, but the card is passively cooled and should make for a nice HTPC component.

Packaging

Packaging:

The video card from AXLE comes in a relatively big cardboard box, with a nice artwork in the frontal part. We can also see the AXLE logo, the specification that on the PCB are only Solid State Capacitors utilized, to maximize the life of the product, the series from which this video card takes part, its name, the RAM quantity and the memory type along with the width of the memory bus:

On the back of the box, we can see detailed information about the supported technologies like Tesselation, Multi-Threading, Compute Shaders or Eyefinity technologies; on the bottom table we can see a table which tells us the specifications of the 5970, 5870, 5850, 5770, 5750 RADEON HD video cards, but the 5450 is not listed:
