BIOSTAR X870E VALKYRIE AM5 Motherboard Review

Motherboards/AMD AM5 by stefan @ 2024-12-08

The new VALKYRIE X870E board from BIOSTAR is a solid offering in terms of hardware, thanks to the 8-layer low-loss PCB, reinforced interfaces, solid VRM and plenty of shielding for the M.2 interfaces. It covers the requirements from AMD to include USB 4.0 Type-C ports on the I/O while the Realtek ALC1220-VB2 CODEC is a tried and tested solution for folks which still need the analog audio interfaces and have not yet switched to digital solutions. The Realtek RTL8125D is flawless compared to the Intel 2.5Gbit controllers which have had issues with disconnects on some routers, while the less intrusive RGB lighting does offer the board a professional look.
