Silicon Power Armor A65B 2TB USB 3.2 Gen1 Portable HDD Review

Storage/HDD by stefan @ 2023-05-16

The even more cost-effective version of the Armor series does include the same 2TB drive model as the A85B, so the performance is basically the same, but the outside shell is now made of rubberized plastic instead of aluminum and this can be also noted by the lighter drive (277g vs 298g). The Armor A65B does max out at only 2TB (unlike A85B which can go up to 5TB), but includes the same MIL-STD 810G Method 516.6 Procedure IV protection standard as its more expensive brother.

The frontal area comes with a SP-themed grey plastic cover:

The outer rubber skin does also include two cut-outs for fitting the included USB cable, when not in use:

On the back area of the Armor A65’s plastic frame, we will note some codes but also logos of the supported standards:

The USB port is protected by a large plastic cover:

This cover does also feature a rubber gasket, in order to avoid liquids going inside the port:

We are dealing with a fully-sized USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port for durability matters:
