Dream Machines DM4 EVO S Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2023-03-30

The DM4 EVO S can track at higher DPI values versus its predecessor thanks to the updated sensor and we found the overall experience smooth while trying Diablo 3, Wolcen, Days Gone and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves on our 2K display. The tracking experience is like the Mountain Makalu 67 which we really enjoyed, and this is complemented by the shoelace cable which is very flexible.

Packaging, A Closer Look

Dream Machines has upgraded the DM4 EVO Gaming Mouse we have tested back in 2020 with a new revision “DM4 EVO S”, which does now sport a different sensor (PMW3370 vs the PMW 3389, both optical), while the button switches durability has been increased dramatically (Kailh GM with 80 million clicks rating, versus the HUANO Blues which have had a 20 million click rating).

DM4 EVO S is shipped inside a small cardboard enclosure with an interesting box art, showing the mouse in the front, while sporting a colorful background:

The product logo appears on the side as well:

On the bottom, Dream Machine has noted the product name in multiple languages but also the product serial number along with the internal code name:

The back side does highlight the main product features:

After unsealing the box, we will note that the DM4 EVO S is securely protected inside a black/transparent plastic enclosure, along with a small leaflet and the replacement PTFE feet:

The PTFE feet are offered in a white color, unlike the DM4 EVO which have had the feet in black:

Inside the leaflet we will note some usage recommendations:

Let’s take a closer look at the main product!

As the previous iteration, the DM4 EVO S does come with an all-black color scheme and textured plastic is favored to rubber coating, which is a great choice in our book!
