Silicon Power Mobile C07 USB 3.2 Gen1 USB Type-C 256GB Flash Drive Review

Storage/Other by stefan @ 2023-03-26

The Marvel C07 USB-C 3.2 Gen1 offers entry-level performance for the supported bus, but it should be fine for most mainstream applications, since it does not heat up at all. We can use it to transfer data from mobile devices supporting OTG as well and can be dedicated as a secondary backup device (besides cloud) when moving large quantities of data; in this case we would recommend going for either the 128 or 256GB variant.

Packaging, A Closer Look

The new Mobile C07 USB Flash Drive from Silicon Power is not focused on transfer speeds, but rather the USB-C only interface for future proofing (as you may know, some laptops dropped USB-A interface completely and you can only use USB-C for connecting peripherals other devices to it) and it also integrates an anti-bacterial coating.

The product is shipped inside a simple cardboard/plastic enclosure, which allows the potential customer to see how the drive actually looks like, instead of checking out a photo. In the front, we will note the laboratory certification, the supported USB bus (it is backwards compatible as well) but also the total storage space:

On the back, we will note a small product description in multiple languages, details regarding the Silicon Power Service Centers but also the product internal code name and serial numbers:

The drive housing is entirely made of plastic and can come with two different colors: deep blue and pink. It is quite light at about 7.9g, easy to hold in hand thanks to the interesting design, while the anti-bacterial coating does protect the user from germs transfer (contains silver ions):

On the back we will note a similar chassis design:

In the back, Silicon Power has provided an opening for fitting a lanyard or attaching the drive to our keychain:

The USB-C connector is carefully protected against damages via the dedicated cover:
