Silicon Power Elite 256GB Class 10 UHS-I U1 microSDXC Card Review

Storage/Other by stefan @ 2023-01-16

Even if the Elite is declared as being UHS-I card with at least a 10MB/s write rate, it can go considerably faster than that as noted from our tests. Thanks to the format and adapter, it is compatible throughout a large range of devices, while the 256GB will be able to fit quite a bit of data!

Packaging, A Closer Look

Silicon Power has sent us another interesting product from the microSD category, the Elite microSDXC 256GB, which is a Class 10 card, supporting UHS-I U1 standard so it can provide a minimum speed of 10MB/s in terms of writes, recommending it for FHD video recording. The product can be had with capacities of 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128 or 256GB, with a rating regarding read performance of up to 100MB/s.

Our 256GB sample was shipped in retail packaging, which means a cardboard layer with a slim transparent enclosure in the middle. Right from the frontal area, we will note the Full-HD compatibility logo, but also the supported standards:

On the back, Silicon Power has created a small product description, in multiple languages, but we will also learn regarding the product power rating, the addresses of the SP offices, the product internal code name and serial number:

The card is also bundled with a microSD adapter, to fit even more products:

The adapter is also provided with a locking system, which sets the card read-only:

On its back, we will note the 9 gold-plated contacts:

The SP Elite card frontal area includes the logos of the supported standards, but also the total capacity:

On the back, we will note the eight gold-plated feet but also some internal code names:
