Silicon Power 2x16GB DDR5 4800MHz C40 Memory Kit Review

The DDR5 4800MHz kit from Silicon Power represents its point of entrance within the new RAM standard and does not include either a heatsink or RGB lighting. In terms of performance, we can squeeze some extra by raising the frequency to 5400MHz, while working with a voltage of 1.25, still fine to be used without extra cooling.

Packaging, A Closer Look

Our Silicon Power DDR5 4800 kit has arrived as two modules packaged individually; the blister packaging allows the potential customer to see how the product actually looks like, instead of some photos:

On the back side of the packaging, we did note that each module has been factory-tested in order to avoid manufacturing faults or broken ICs:

After unsealing the packaging, we will note some instructions inside regarding the installation:

The Silicon Power DDR5 4800 16GB modules do not come with any heatsink since they are thought as mainstream offerings running at the default voltage of 1.1:

On the frontal area of the PCB, we will get a small sticker with the product serial number, the internal code name, the recommended/tested operating frequency and CAS latency, but also the total module capacity:

The memory packages come with the D8BNJ code name, identical to the ones we have found with the Crucial 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR5-4800 memory kits we have tested previously:

A P8911Y0 IC from Renesas is used for the Power Management Integrated Circuit:

On the back side of the module, we did not note any additional components:
