AQIRYS T.G.A. ALPHA Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2022-08-22

The AQIRYS T.G.A. ALPHA improves on the former T.G.A. by providing customization to the max and offering an even lighter chassis. After customizing the mouse on our liking, we ran some Guild Wars 2 sessions, where the lightweight design did really help while doing vistas and Hero points, while the tracking was impeccable. The mouse did also perform great in Escape Academy, but also while playing Guardians of the Galaxy.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

T.G.A. family of mice from AQIRYS has received a new member in the form of ALPHA, taking customization to the next level, but also sporting an even lighter chassis. It comes in wireless form, as the previous model we have reviewed, with an optical PixArt 3370 sensor but with a much smaller battery in size which now comes with a 300mA capacity. This move does not impact autonomy much, the rated life being up to 44h with a polling rate of 1000Hz and LEDs turned off.

The box size and design is similar to the one we have seen with the other T.G.A. iterations, showing a photo of the main product on the front, together with some of its main highlights, listed as small icons, but also the tracking capabilities of the sensor (19000 DPI):

On the side, we will note some product features in multiple languages, but also one of the unique features, which means it has included both low-profile palm-rests and high-profile palm-rests, with a 2mm height difference between:

There is an impressive assortment of palm rests (back covers) available inside!

On the bottom, we will note the list of components inside the box, the product serial number, its code name but also some links to Internet resources via QR codes:

The inner box does come with some sayings, the same we have seen on the other models as well:

“Opponent Skill Level … Whatever!”

“The Great Annihilator is now in effect.”

“No GL is needed past this point. Just HF!”

After lifting the top cover, we will note an introduction to the ALPHA mouse, but also the link to the AQIRYS main page:

The first set of hardware bundle does include two sets of rubberized grips (white and black), a set of stickers, the user manual, but also two USB cables (black and white):

The leaflet presented before does have instructions on how to remove the protective film from the PTFE feet before the first use but also how to perform the mouse install:

The selection of supplied case stickers is quite interesting:

The optional grips can be easily installed thanks to the 3M adhesive underneath; these are for the side panels, but also for the left/right buttons:

Here is a close-up of the pattern these grips do have:
