While the Marvel Xtreme M80 may look like the run-of-the-mill USB Flash Drive, it really packs a punch by succeeding to deliver fast read/write transfer speeds but also coming in large capacities (250GB, 500GB, 1TB), so we may consider it a veritable portable SSD!

Test Setup and Test Results

The testbench was composed from the following hardware:

 

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600X

CPU Cooler: Deepcool Captain 240 EX RGB AIO

Motherboard: BIOSTAR RACING B550GTA

RAM: Patriot Memory Viper RGB Series DDR4

Video: PowerColor Radeon 5700 8GB

Power Supply: Cooler Master 850W

SSD: Patriot P200 512GB

Case: Cooler Master ATCS 840



The drive comes preloaded with the online registration tool shortcut:

 

 

Here is the total storage space reported by Windows OS; the drive comes formatted FAT32 by default. For testing purposes we will re-format it to NTFS:

 

 

To determine the flash drive read speeds, the HD Tune v5 utility was used:

 

 

 

For some reason, HD Tune File Benchmark has thrown out an error:

To measure the real life performance, we have used the Total Commander application to copy to the flash drive and from the flash drive the same file and recorded the transfer speeds, after they have stabilized.
