The previously released CORSAIR iCUE ELITE CAPELLIX AIOs do become fully-compatible with the new Alder Lake platform on the LGA1700 socket thanks to the so called “retrofit kit”. The kit includes shortened standoffs versus the LGA115x ones, in order to obtain optimal contact between the CPU HSF and the pump plate.

This can be considered as a continuation of the previous iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX Review and consists of tests done on the Alder Lake platform.

After the launch of the LGA1700 platforms, the CORSAIR ELITE CAPELLIX coolers would become fully compatible only after purchasing the so-called LGA1700 Retrofit Kit, which consisted of shortened standoffs so the pump plate would make proper contact with the Alder Lake HSF. These carry the CW-8960091 code name and are available on CORSAIR’s website for about 5 Euros with free shipping. These will take quite a bit to be delivered (in our case it took about a month), since they will travel with regular Postal Office services and not private courier, so take a bit of patience!

The new standoffs were shipped in a tiny re-sealable bag, carrying a sticker with the product code name and serial number:

Here are the standoffs outside of the packaging:

Compared with the regular LGA115x standoffs, these are a bit shorter:

The installation of the iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX is done the same way as before, but with the new components:
