CORSAIR HS60 HAPTIC Stereo Gaming Headset with Haptic Bass Review

Audio/Others by stefan @ 2022-03-05

Since there weren’t a lot of options to configure in software, we went straight ahead and ran some games in order to see the tactile feedback of the HS60 HAPTIC. Right after getting into some battles while running Lost Ark, we were impressed by the immersion this headset can offer, without exaggerating on the vibration, even when turned to the max! We haven’t observed any vibration delays when low frequencies were implied, such as explosions, spells and so on. Gaming is not the only multimedia content you will enjoy the vibration: in YouTube clips with music or other content which is more bass-oriented, the vibration element really makes you feel you do have a large subwoofer nearby, without actually disturbing your neighbors.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this article, we will concentrate upon a variation of the HS60 headset by CORSAIR we already reviewed back in 2019, but now incorporate haptic bass which is enabled by using Taction Technology. To be more exact, the HS60 HAPTIC is the first gaming-dedicated headphone which features Taction Transporter tactile transducers; these provide skin-level vibrations for a more immersive experience. Even with bigger drivers, regular headsets cannot provide such an experience, which with HS60 Haptic it makes you feel that you also have a very big subwoofer nearby.

The product is shipped inside a medium-sized cardboard enclosure with the latest version of CORSAIR’s box art, with a photo of the HS60 HAPTIC in front, highlighting the Taction vibration technology, the Discord-certified microphone but also the compatibility with iCUE:

On the side, we will note another photo of the product, on a yellow background:

CORSAIR’s “Never Miss a Beat” saying is also available on the packaging:

On the bottom, we will note the list of compatible platforms (PC is listed here) but also drawings of the box contents:

In the back, we do have a more in-depth explanation of the headset components, in multiple languages:

After removing the cardboard layer, we will note that the headset is placed securely inside a black plastic mold, together with its hardware accessories and documentation:

The documentation is placed inside a plastic bag and includes the usual “suspects”: Warranty Guide, Safety Information and User’s Manual:

The manual gives the user enough information on how to use the product, without the need to consult online documentation:

Besides the headset we will receive the removable microphone but also a sponge windscreen filter:

The HS60 HAPTIC shares design elements from the regular HS60, which was quite a solid product; the earcups are large, in all-black color which is also shared by the headband. The only elements you do not see here are the extra stitching on the ear pads and the headband:
