The mainstream TransMemory U301 USB 3.2 Gen1 Flash Drive from KIOXIA is very compact and quite speedy in term of read speeds. The writes are quite slow, so we would mostly recommend it to be used with smaller files or as a drive to store frequently used program kits such as Windows OS, Office and so on.
With the TransMemory U301, KIOXIA is proposing a mainstream USB Flash Drive for storing small and medium files to have easy access to it faster. This model is no speed demon in terms of write speeds but can deliver nice reads thanks to the USB 3.2 Gen1 bus it was designed for.
The drive is shipped inside a very compact cardboard enclosure with a small plastic layer, in which the product is held securely:
On the back side, we will find out the info regarding the 5-year warranty, the supported buses, type of connector, the required operating systems but also the approximate usable capacity:
After the removal of the cardboard layer, we will end up with the smaller transparent plastic compartment:
The drive is small, with a grippy white plastic housing; the storage space is listed on the top, alogn with the supported bus:
On the back, we will learn of the internal serial number:
A hole is provided in the chassis for attaching a lanyard:
The plastic cap is semi-transparent and protects the USB connector:
To avoid losing the cap, we can easily install it in the back of the drive while in use:
