It is quite amazing to see how far USB Flash Drives have evolved and the Patriot Supersonic Rage Pro is a clear example of that. It comes with near-SATA SSD read/write speeds and is very compact to be easily carried in the pocket. Also, it is available with capacities of up to 512GB, to be able to carry large quantities of data at once.

Packaging, A Closer Look

Patriot has recently updated their offerings in the USB Flash Drive segment with some interesting products (high capacities and speedy in the range of regular SATA but also entry-level NVMe drives). One of the models is the Supersonic Rage Pro model, which can be found with 128, 256 and 512GB capacities and can reach up to 420MB/s in terms of reads. UASP (USB attached SCSI) is also supported by the product, allowing faster reads/writes thanks to the parallel processing.

The drive comes in a simple cardboard/plastic packaging, highlighting the total storage capacity, the supported USB 3.2 Gen 1 bus, but also the performance figures. Patriot categorizes this drive as taking part from their Extreme Performance line:

The Supersonic Rage Pro drive comes with an aluminum coated housing, while the extremities are made of plastic. The aluminum housing helps with the cooling of the internal components but also adds to the drive durability. On the frontal area, we will note the product logo, together with the drive capacity:

In the back, we will note a small orifice for fitting the drive with a lanyard:
