Razer Naga Pro MMO/MOBA/FPS Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2020-10-06

The all-around Naga Pro mouse from Razer is meant to captivate gamers which prefer different gaming genres by including easy swappable plates for MOBA, MMOs and FPS. The 12-button plate is the one which needs the most time to get used to, but previous owners of the Naga line should be right at home with this one. The latest gaming sensor can deliver up to 20000 DPI and the battery life is quite impressive when using the mouse without the RGB lighting effects; from our testing, with the RGB brightness at 50% we have only noted about 2% battery drain per hour while using the mouse for productivity work but also while playing Serious Sam 4 and Darksburg.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

Razer’s multifunctional mouse for different game types has been revised under the Naga Pro name and includes quite a bit of improvements including wireless capabilities, an impressive battery life, an even higher performing sensor, new optical switches for the most frequently used buttons but also redesigned switchable button plates. The mouse can also use a docking station to charge instead of the supplied cable, but this one is not included in the original packaging (maybe this feature would have increased the price outside the range Razer has thought of?)

Due to its interchangeable left side button plates, this mouse is also described by Razer as “modular” and is shipped inside a compact cardboard box, featuring the well-known color scheme; here we will also learn that the product features Hyperspeed Wireless technology, meaning high-speed transmission of data between the wireless dongle and the mouse, very low latency so you won’t notice any difference versus a wired mouse but also automatic channel switching in case you are living in an urban area with a lot of wireless networks around:

On the side of the box, the main product features are carefully highlighted again, together with the box contents, computer system requirements but also the Razer Synapse unified software requirements:

On the back side, we will notice and exploded view of the mouse, showing all the three panels, the charging cable, the dongle, the modes of connection but also the compatible Razer Mouse Dock (sold separately). Razer does also add here the important fact that we should expect about 100 hours of battery life from a single charge (impressive right?) and that the product features a 2-year warranty:

Inside the box, we will first notice the documentation; the leaflet with the company description and signed by Min-Liang Tan is also present here:

From the User Manual we will learn important info such as how to operate the panels, view the battery low power indicator, how to use the different connectivity modes and so on…:

A nice set of stickers is also included here:

Here is what is included in the box hardware-wise:

-the main product with the MMO plate pre-installed

-the MOBA plate

-the FPS plate

-the charging cable

-an USB adapter for placing the wireless dongle away from our computer in order to have less interference

First we will begin with the dongle, which is similar to the one we have seen with CORSAIR’s DARK CORE PRO and helps moving the wireless dongle far away from the computer case/components, especially when you are using the mouse with a desktop.
