CORSAIR IRONCLAW RGB FPS/MOBA Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2019-01-08

IRONCLAW RGB is quite light at just 105g thanks to its all-plastic construction and measures 130 x 80 x 45 (LWH); we found it to be very comfortable while using it with a palm grip, while the latest high-end sensor made in cooperation with PixArt should be enough for pro gamers as well. When running games such as CS: GO, StarCraft II, Vindictus and Quake Champions, the mouse did perform flawlessly and if the system does also include a latest-gen gaming monitor (or multiple) with high resolution up to 4K, the high DPI values PMW3391 supports are a welcome addition. When low-sensitivity gaming is involved, with actions such as sniping, the latest sensor can assist with tracking and reporting of the cursor of up to 1016 cm per second and with a mouse acceleration of up to 50G.

A Closer Look Contd.

The rubberized scroll wheel is silent when used and is also RGB enabled; nearby we do have two programmable buttons (one for profile switching, the other for DPI selection), while the durable Omron switches for the left/right click buttons are rated for up to 50 million actuations:

The right side panel does feature an additional rubber layer, but no extra buttons:

On the bottom we will locate four non-symmetric PTFE feet, but also the PMW3391 PixArt sensor lens:

The USB connector does feature the new CORSAIR design:

After plugging in the mouse to a spare USB port, the RGB segments will show up right away:

The lighting given by the scroll wheel is very subtle so it won’t disturb you or the person sitting in front of you while on tournaments:

Here is also a shot of the multi-purpose LED indicator in action:
