ECS LIVA Q2 Pocket PC Review

Others/All-in-one PC by stefan @ 2018-09-07

The tiny ECS LIVA Q2 did really impress us on how much performance it can deliver, judging by its small size. Even if the manufacturer did opt-in for an active cooling system, the internal fan barely makes any noise: in IDLE we have recorded about 28.1 dBA, while when running the AIDA64 stress test the noise level did get up to 30.9 dBA, which is barely noticeable (27.8 dBA ambient). The unit does feature two USB ports in front for connecting peripherals, extra storage and besides the LAN interface we can connect it wirelessly thanks to the included internal 802.11ac adapter (Bluetooth 4.1 compatible).

Packaging, A Closer Look

In this article we will concentrate our attention upon a rather interesting mini-PC; it is basically the smallest all-in-one PC we have tested so far (70 x 70 x 33.4 mm) and weighs only 260 grams. The product was shipped inside a cube cardboard enclosure and ECS markets this model as a “pocket-size PC”:

On the side of the enclosure we will get to see the full list of technical specifications:

The product is shipped with different SKUs, but ours did come with the Intel Pentium Silver N5000 SoC, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of eMMC internal storage:

After lifting the top cover, we will get to see the main point of attraction, secured around black cardboard:

The bottom layer of the box does contain the bundle:

Each bundle component is wrapped inside an additional plastic bag:

As we have seen with other mini-PCs, the LIVA Q2 does ship with a VESA mount:

The power adapter was manufactured by Asian Power Devices Inc. and is rated on the output 12V at 2A:

The plug is suitable for USA but with an adapter you can use it in European countries as well:

LIVA Q did use a micro USB 2.0 port for power delivery and the plug seems a better choice:
