Toshiba TransMemory U365 256GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Review

The TransMemory U365 drive comes with fast read speeds, even higher than the advertised “up to 150 MB/s” and is quite easy to operate thanks to the sliding retractable design. Depending on the capacity we do choose to go with (32GB, 64GB, 128GB or 256GB), we can fit quite a bit of content on it, in order to transfer to other PCs/Laptops. This model is also backed by a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase, which says a lot of the quality components inside the unit.

Packaging, A Closer Look

In this review article we will concentrate our attention on another USB 3.0 Flash Drive from Toshiba; it takes part of the TransMemory brand and carries the U365 code name. The manufacturer advertises a high read transfer rate for it (up to 150MB/s) and can be purchased in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB or 256GB variants. Our sample has arrived in a simple cardboard packaging, that advertises the sliding retractable design:

On the back side, we will spot some extra info on the product, such its serial number and the supported operating systems:

After removing the cardboard layer, we will get to see that the drive is fully protected inside a sealed transparent plastic enclosure:

Our sample did come with 256GB of storage and its chassis is made of plastic; the top side does also show the bus it was built for (USB 3.0, backwards compatible), along with the company logo:

The plastic switch on the side can be used for ejecting the USB connector:

The back side of the chassis features a product serial number, along with its code name:

A hole is also provided in the corner for fitting a lanyard:

The retractable design does not need an extra protective cover and it is easy to access the USB connector for using the drive:
