Creative Metallix Plus Portable Water-resistant Bluetooth Speaker Review

After fully-charging the speaker (a full charge takes about five-six hours), we did pair it to our Huawei P10 Plus smartphone and started listening to tracks on TuneIn Radio but also SoundCloud; right away, we were not only impressed by the overall volume of such a small speaker, but also its ability to handle bass! Creative has quite a bit of experience in this area and the custom-tuned drivers along with the passive radiator seem to do wonders. Judging by the Metallix Plus performance, it is ideal to bring it with yourself at small, private parties but can also handle the outside environment since it was built with IPX5 splash proof capabilities.

Packaging, A Closer Look

Yet another Creative portable speaker has reached the MadShrimps.be labs; this time we are looking at the Metallix Plus that features Bluetooth connectivity but also has an up-to-24-hour battery advertised! The product is shipped inside a simple, brown cardboard enclosure:

Moving on, we will be informed that the manual is offered in physical form, but we can also take a look at the product serial number:

A simple and efficient packaging style can be observed inside, after removing the seal; several documents are available with the product, including a leaflet which informs us of a promotion:

As we have been used with before with Creative, they are describing in the manual all possible operating modes with the product, including extras such as Wireless Stereo Pairing where you can purchase a secondary unit which links to the first one wirelessly in order to obtain a wider soundstage:

We are also getting leaflets with information regarding product disposal, but also on the offered World-Wide warranty:

The speaker is carefully wrapped inside a re-sealable plastic bag and as a hardware bundle we are also receiving a 0.6m USB cable, for charging purposes:
