CORSAIR K70 LUX RGB with PBT Double-shot Keycaps Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2018-01-08

We have tested the CORSAIR K70 LUX RGB keyboard with games such as The Crew, Wolfenstein: The New Order, MU Legend but also Quake Champions; since the MX Silent switch does have the same actuation force as the CHERRY MX Red, they did feel very responsive in-game, but all this at considerably lower noise levels. The noise on the MX Silent has been lowered thanks to the integrated TPE dampener built into the switch stem, that helps reduce the top out noise as well as the bottom out noise. This switch also feels great when typing so if you are used to writing office documents or other type of productivity work at home or even at your workplace, people around won’t be bothered by the noise.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this article we will first concentrate our attention upon the K70 LUX mechanical gaming keyboard from CORSAIR, which does feature improvements over the original K70 such as a better LED controller, an USB pass-through but also uses the STRAFE RGB keycaps. The product is shipped inside a CORSAIR-branded cardboard enclosure, which shows a photo of the product in operation right on the top cover:

Also, here we will learn that we are dealing with a RGB model, but also that this specific SKU is equipped with our most favorite mechanical switches: MX Silent

The manufacturer does not forget to list here some of the product highlights:

Some more product features can be spotted on the side of the packaging:

We can say the same regarding the technical specifications:

On the bottom area, we will be able to locate an even more detailed explanation of the main product features:

After removing the top packaging layer, we will end up with another plain, cardboard enclosure:

In here we will find the main point of attraction, the K70 LUX RGB, along with the respective bundle:

As the original K70, the top layer of the keyboard is made from aircraft-grade anodized brushed aluminum, which does not only increase the durability, but also gives the product a premium feel!

The stock large font keycaps do allow the backlight to shine through even cooler than before:
