DOOGEE Shoot 1 Smartphone Review

Mobile/Smart Phones by stefan @ 2017-07-28

With the Shoot 1, DOOGEE is proposing a low-cost dual back shooter solution for producing bokeh-like photos and at the same time we are getting a nice 5.5’’ FHD display manufactured by SHARP, a high capacity 3300mAh battery, a MT6737T quad-core SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of eMMC. The ARM Mali-T720 MP2 SoC runs at 600Mhz and is unable to provide a smooth 3D gaming experience in more complex games such as Asphalt 8, but simpler titles such as Angry Birds will work just fine. Current firmware versions do sport malware for an unknown reason (which can be removed), but also a weird issue regarding switching microphones after each OS reboot, a problem that should be addressed by DOOGEE ASAP.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

It is now time to take a look at another smartphone from DOOGEE thanks to mobcom and to be more exact we are talking about the Shoot 1; this particular model has an interesting highlight which is the dual-camera assembly (13MP + 8MP) in the rear which is paired with a single-tone dual LED flash for creating a Bokeh effect. Additionally, it does carry a frontal 8MP camera sensor for selfies, a large 5.5’’ screen manufactured by SHARP (FHD resolution), a frontal fingerprint sensor and a large 3300mAh battery.

The product is shipped inside a small cardboard enclosure, which does feature a photo of the terminal on the top cover:

On the back, we will be able to spot the main product characteristics, along with the color of the Shoot 1 we are getting, but also its serial numbers; the IMEI identification numbers are also available here:

After lifting the top cover, we will be able to see that the Shoot 1 is protected inside a semi-transparent plastic bag:

The bottom layer does contain the product accessories/bundle:

We are getting one USB cable for data transfer and charging purposes, the power adapter, the User Manual, a SIM ejector pin, one screen protector but also a Limited Warranty DOOGEE leaflet:

The SIM ejector tool can be used easily thanks to the small plastic handle:

Usage instructions along with the main smartphone components are explained inside the documentation:

A first look at the Shoot 1 will reveal the fact that it comes covered by a branded protective screen, but also has a back shell cover pre-installed:
