Lexar JumpDrive Tough USB 3.1 Flash Drive Review

Storage/Other by stefan @ 2017-05-23

Despite the fact that we are talking about a storage drive meant for harsh environments, the JumpDrive Tough from Lexar does still remain a stylish product with a two-color combination and good read/write transfer rates. The manufacturer has included an oversized attachment loop for even more flexibility, while data can be protected via the supplied EncryptStick Lite software, which is an advanced security solution with 256-bit AES encryption.

Packaging, A Closer Look

Here we are looking at another interesting USB Flash Drive from Lexar, and to be more exact the JumpDrive Tough, which is available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants. This specific model is made to sustain a tough environment: is impact and pressure resistant up to 750 PSI, harsh weather temperatures (-13 degrees Fahrenheit to 300 degrees Fahrenheit) but also water resistant (up to 98 feet). The JumpDrive Tough model is shipped in a simple cardboard/plastic enclosure, which does describe the main product highlights on the frontal layer:

On the back side, the manufacturer gets more in-depth regarding the technical specifications, which are written in multiple languages:

JumpDrive Tough shape is clearly rugged versus the other models we have tested in the past; the dual color scheme (teal/dark grey) looks great, while on the USB port cover Lexar has also written the total drive capacity (in our case, the 32GB model):

If we do flip its chassis on the opposite side, we will get to see some more factory internal serial numbers for identification:

The top protective cover holds well onto the USB connector:

A large attachment loop was built to fit keychains up to carabiners:
