Razer Ornata Chroma - Mechanical Membrane Gaming Keyboard Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2017-03-15

The Ornata Chroma keyboard implementation is unique: a combination between membrane rubber domes and the regular mechanical switches in order to have best of both worlds. These are integrated along with a medium-height keycap design for an even faster access to the keys. Besides the ability to remap all the keys with different other functions, we can fully customize the RGB lighting system and synchronize it with the other Chroma-enabled peripherals.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this article, we will concentrate our view on another unique product from Razer: the Ornata Chroma keyboard, which does incorporate the all-new Mecha-Membrane switch. This is a combination between the membrane rubber domes and the regular mechanical switches in order to have best of both worlds: a soft touch along with a crisp tactile click. These are integrated along with a medium-height keycap design for an even faster access to the keys.

The product is shipped inside a medium-sized cardboard enclosure, which sports the usual black/green Razer color scheme; the top cover is featuring a photo of the product, along with some extra details:

A small cut-out is provided along the direction keys, so the user can experience the Mecha-Membrane switches before even unsealing the box:
