ROCCAT Skeltr Smart Communication Gaming Keyboard Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2017-02-27

The high-end Skeltr keyboard from ROCCAT does come with dome switches and besides the regular RGB LED customization and macros we can find on regular products of the same type, we do also get integration with mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. With the ROCCAT Swarm application installed, the mobile device acts as a secondary display for system monitoring, we can configure the keyboard on-the-fly, take calls right from our desk but we can also type directly to the gadget via Bluetooth connection.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this article, we will concentrate our view upon a smart keyboard from ROCCAT, which can be used along mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones in order to bring more features to the table such as easy phone call management, hardware monitoring, direct typing inside the smartphone/tablet applications via Bluetooth connectivity and more. This new keyboard carries the Skeltr name and is a RGB model with membranes instead of mechanical switches; the product is shipped inside quite a large cardboard enclosure (for a keyboard that is), which sports a photo of the product in operation, along with some of its main features:

If we would like to learn about the product in even more detail, we are welcome to go on the bottom area of the packaging:

After removing the top packaging layer, we will end up with an all-black box:

The goodies are right inside, along with the rest of the bundle:

Speaking of the bundle, we are getting a Stereo pass-through and USB pass-through cable for the mobile device, the documentation, but also a wrist rest:

The documentation envelope does contain a nice set of ROCCAT stickers, a Disposal Information leaflet, but also the Quick-Installation Guide:
