Fnatic Gear Clutch G1 Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2016-11-02

The latest mouse from Fnatic Gear does not disappoint at all, by incorporating the proven Pixart 3310 optical sensor, Omron switches with a MTBF of 10M actuations and thanks to the rubberized finish but also the curved design, we can use the product during longer gaming sessions, or even (sometimes tiring) office work. While the software application of the Clutch G1 does offer enough settings for tuning the mouse performance, the LED lighting system is not as advanced as we have seen on other similar products tested in the past.

A Closer Look Contd.

The curved shape on the back is similar to what we have seen with the first model:

On the left side, we’ve got a set of programmable, buttons, which are easy to reach:

If we move more to the front, we will get to see a Fnatic Gear logo:

The right side was designed as a rest area, and does also feature a product logo too:

Besides the actual left-right buttons (based on Omron D2FC-F-7N, rated for 10M actuations), we have a rubberized, LED lighted scroll wheel but also two circular buttons for switching between preset profiles. The USB cable coming out of the Clutch G1 has a drag reduction feature, which reduces the irritating drag feeling during gaming sessions:

On the bottom area of the mouse we will get to see the sensor lens (Pixart ADNS 3310 which does support CPI setup from 50 to 5000) but also the product serial number and power rating. PTFE feet are spotted in each corner, which assure that the mouse is moving smoothly on the surfaces we will use it on:

The supplied cable length is two meters, enough for most applications:

The cable ends up with a gold-plated USB port, which ensures optimal contact:

Right after the mouse is connected to our machine, the LED lights will activate, for both scroll wheel and the profile indicator:
