TP-LINK Neffos Y5L Smartphone Review

The 4.5’’ Neffos Y5L smartphone from TP-LINK is reaching the low-end segment by incorporating a Snapdragon 210 32-bit SoC, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (which can be further expanded via MicroSD cards). The back 5MP shooter is quite average, while the screen choice for this model is TN, which lowers the viewing angles, while the screen is harder to read during day light.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this article we will take a closer look at the cheapest offering of the TP-LINK Neffos series and to be more exact the Y5L smartphone. This product was clearly thought as being affordable to anyone and it will be interesting to check out where “corners have been cut” in order to achieve a low price of about 65 Euros. Neffos Y5L has arrived in a fully-sealed packaging:

The cardboard box has a small footprint and includes a photo of the product on the top area:

On the back area, we will get to see a list of technical specifications:

As we have seen with the other Neffos series products, the boxes also come with an additional blue seal:

With this model, the packaging is even simpler, the inner cardboard structure lacking an additional cover:

After removing the top packaging layer, we will be able to see the main product on top, while the bottom area holds the documentation along with the rest of the bundle:

Besides the usual papers, we are receiving one charge/data transfer USB cable, the battery but also one wall charger:
