Corsair K70 RGB RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2016-06-10

The great K70 RGB has been reincarnated with the RAPIDFIRE version and sports the brand-new MX Speed switches from Cherry. These are the first switches to provide a very fast 1.2mm mechanical actuation distance so gaming enthusiasts will get a significant boost from it. Casual gamers along with regular users will need a bit of time to adjust with the new fast response, while the 45g actuation force is the same as when using MX Reds or Silent MX switches.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

Corsair Gaming is coming back with one of the most appreciated keyboard designs, the K70 which incorporates RGB lighting and a brand new switch from Cherry: the MX Speed RGB. With this new model release, the company is aiming mostly towards gamers which do aim of having optimal response by having a decreased point of actuation, in this case only 1.2mm, with an operating force of 45g. Coming back to the packaging, Corsair Gaming is using a compact design so will make the most of the free space inside; the top packaging layer features a photo of the product in operation on top, along with a list of the main product highlights:

After removing the top packaging layer, we will end up with a plain cardboard box:

Inside it we will get to see the keyboard along with its bundle; in order to avoid any scratches, Corsair Gaming has also wrapped the keyboard inside a transparent plastic bag:

Speaking of the bundle, we will get one removable palm rest, a set of extra keycaps, one manual but also one warranty guide leaflet:
