Storage/Other by stefan @ 2016-03-06

The M301-EA series is another mainstream storage solution for people which need to record precious moments with their smartphone or digital camera, but also for recording Full-HD content without the need of deleting previous content thanks to the 64GB and 128GB large capacities. The card performances are very similar to the N301 and the product is backed by a 5-year warranty.

Packaging, A Closer Look

With this next review we will look upon another SDXC card from Toshiba, but this time in a microSDXC format, the M301-EA which comes with a total of 128GB of storage capacity. Considering the rated read speeds, we can consider this product from the mainstream segment, as the previously tested N301 was. As we can see from the blister packaging, the product is also accompanied by a SD card adapter, so it would be compatible over a large range of devices:

On the back side of the enclosure, we will be able to see in more detail the approximate usable capacity in many different languages, but also a notice regarding SDHC & SDXC compatibility:

After removing the cardboard layer, we will get to see that both adapter and the microSDXC card are located in a secondary sealed compartment:

The SDHC/SDXC adapter carries the code name ADP-HS02:

In its back it does come with the compartment for inserting the actual card:

A locking mechanism is also provided for making the card read-only:

As any other microSDXC card, the EXCERIA comes with diminutive dimensions (15mmx11mmx1mm):

On its back we will be able to spot the eight golden contacts along with a small sticker with serial numbers:

Let’s insert the card into the adapter and get on with testing!
