Tronsmart Vega S95 Telos Android 4K Media Player Review

Others/All-in-one PC by stefan @ 2016-01-27

The Tronsmart Vega S95 Telos is performing as promised by the manufacturer, being able to playback 4K content without any issues at all and at the same time it is able to output at this resolution with a frequency of 60Hz. We do get plenty of possibilities to connect extra storage to it via the included USB 2.0 ports, the SATA Data/Power interface but also via LAN, Wi-Fi or even the SD Card reader. The 3D performance of the product is also quite decent so considering that we do actually have a fully-functional Android 5.1.1 mini-PC on our hands, we can install plenty of other applications on it via Play Store.

A Closer Look Contd.

The included SATA adapter will help us connect drives directly to the Vega S95, without the need of using USB enclosures:

A black IR remote is offered for an easier navigation between menus:

The remote is powered by two AAA batteries but these are not included in the package:

When looking at the chassis of the product, we do remember well about the iconBIT Toucan SX we have tested quite some time ago, but the finishing is now made from a rough plastic texture on top and no longer a rubberized paint which was collecting lots of lint and skin oils if manipulated frequently. The top area of the case has a subtle Tronsmart logo available:

The lateral frame is made of shiny black plastic and in the front the unit does come with the Power Red/Blue LED and also the IR blaster:

On its right side we will be able to see the SATA Data+Power connector for using the supplied adapter:

In the back we’ve got the DC-IN port, one optical Audio port, the LAN port, one HDMI 2.0 port but also one USB 2.0 port:

This is not all! On the left side we also have two additional USB 2.0 ports along with a card reader:

The whole bottom area is covered by a rubber foot so the unit will stay steady on the surface we will sit it on; a central sticker is also available here describing the power ratings, model name and lot number:

A Fn button for flashing the unit with our computer is also available here:
