THL 2015A Smartphone Review

Mobile/Smart Phones by stefan @ 2015-11-17

The newly released THL 2015A smartphone is a lower-specced version of their previous 2015 model which now features a MTK MT6735 SoC at 1.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a HD screen and a battery of 2700mAh. The camera sensor on the back is a Sony IMX135 Exmor RS 13MP and while it can shoot good quality photos during day time, the night shots are quite disappointing because of the excessive LED flash bleeding inside the frame.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

Back in 2014, we had the first chance to take a look at a THL smartphone and to be more precise the 5000 model, which did feature a non-removable massive battery and quite a powerful SoC and overall the product impressed us positively. After about a year, thanks to Chinavasion we have another THL model in our lab and to be more precise the 2015A which is practically a 2015 with lower technical specifications. The product does come inside an all-white cardboard box, with the THL manufacturer logo on top:

On the bottom area of the packaging, we will get to see the technical specifications of the product in more detail:

After the removal of the top cover, we will get to see smartphone, wrapped in a semi-transparent plastic bag:

We get plenty of bundle with this model from the manufacturer:

The first item we are going to look at is the protective case, which features a circular top window:

The configuration of its bottom area tells us that it features docking capabilities and openings are built for the loudspeaker area long with the camera assembly:

Unlike some more elaborated cases which have a hard plastic case inside, this one is a much simpler design:

The case will attach to the smartphone with adhesive, which is not a great solution in our book if we frequently change SIM cards, microSDHC or any other reason which would imply removing the back cover:

The manual offered by THL is mainly dedicated to people which haven’t used an Android system before:

The supplied USB cable has a simple design:
