HIS R7 260X iCooler 2GB GDDR5 Video Card Review

Videocards/VGA Reviews by stefan @ 2014-06-26

The second R7 260X video card we are reviewing from HIS is featuring a less complicated cooling system with a single 11-blade fan while the clocks are lower than the OEM version from AMD; this translates to 1000MHz for the GPU and 1250MHz for the memory. Despite the initial values, the card is quite overclockable and is succeeding to get dangerously close to the more expensive model.

A Closer Look Contd.

If we look superficially, we might say that the HIS 250X and 260X coolers look alike; this is a bit wrong since the similarities stop at the color of the fan and the aspect of the upper plastic shroud; the fan now houses 11 blades instead of 9 in order to maximize the cooling efficiency and the aluminum heatsink fins are distributed now in a different fashion:

Here are also some views from the lateral sides of the video card:

In order to have better cooling on the VRM, HIS has decided to use a small aluminum heatsink, which uses a thermal pad as interface:

The card is also equipped with a single Crossfire finger:

As video outputs, we do have one DisplayPort, one HDMI and two DVIs:

On the back side we will be able to see an assortment of product stickers, but also the screws which hold both heatsinks (GPU, VRM) into place:

On this side we will also find the uP1643P 3+2 Phase Buck Controller from uPI Semiconductor Corp:
