RAM giant CORSAIR invited the press and the happy few to a pre-Computex party in the Hive Club in Taipei city. The Fremont memory company has some sweet new cases in the lineup. The below quick look is a snapshot from their press releases and the original footage taken in the club. Major new thing was the DDR4 RAM getting ready for the upcoming X99 platform.
Corsair had two versions of DDR4 already at the booth: the high end 2400MHz kit equipped with the Dominator Platinum heat spreader and the low profile value version, running at slack timings of CAS16-16-16-39 at 1.2VDimm. Even though the timings don't look impressive, the increase in bandwidth and memory capacity per DIMM could make it worthwhile to upgrade to the new upcoming Intel platform. We spotted a new Dominator Platinum cooler equipped with dual fans and the design resembling much alike the heat spreader.
Corsair also announced its new HXi Series PC power supply, the latest evolution in the award-winning line of HX PSUs. Available in 750, 850, and 1000 watt models, the HXi Series PSU feature 80 PLUS® Platinum efficiency, fully modular cables, near-silent operation, Japanese electrolytic capacitors, and Corsair software monitoring and customization. Akin to all Corsair PSUs, the HXi Series utilizes high-quality components to guarantee clean, stable, continuous power when needed most.
The ultra-efficient design found within the HXi Series generates minimal heat and runs exceptionally quiet, even when delivering high levels of power. The PSUs meet the stringent requirements for 80 PLUS Platinum certification by achieving greater than 92% energy efficiency — reducing both energy waste and the electrical bill. Built with specially selected low-noise capacitors and transformers, and a Zero-RPM Fan Mode (that only spins the PSU fan under the heaviest loads), the HXi Series PSU deliver ultra-low noise operation during common daily use.
