The GTX WindForce OC 2GB video card from Gigabyte is another excellent product featuring overclocking from the factory along with the 2-slot 450W cooling system.

An even Closer Look

In order to reveal the front side of the heatsink, we will have to first remove the 3 small screws which are located in the VRM area:

 

 

 

 

Lastly we have 4 larger screws with springs to remove in the GPU area:

 

 

 

It was no surprise that we are dealing again with a custom PCB, more solid than the original proposed by Nvidia:

 

 

 

The 8 GDDR5 memory modules carry the K4G203255FD code name and are manufactured by Samsung. These are rated for 1750MHz, the highest frequency we have seen so far:

 

 

 

For the CPU core we have no less than 8 power phases and the memory comes with extra two phases:

 

 

 

Because of the new arrangement, the fan header has been relocated:

 

 

 

In the center we have the GK104 core manufactured at TSMC:

 

 

 

The heatsink comes with 6 heatpipes for a more efficient heat transfer and thermal pads act as a contact medium between it and the memory, VRM components:

 

 

 

On the heatsink sides we will see some extra screws which are meant to keep the top metallic shroud in place:
