Giada Mini PC i35G Review

Others/All-in-one PC by stefan @ 2012-09-17

The i35G is a cute and small computer from Giada, that can be used for light Internet browsing, watching movies, or playing old games, this while keeping the power consumption to a low level. The chassis comes with active cooling, and the fan speed is being ramped up depending on the temperatures. A Media Center remote is also included inside the box for added value, along with a HDMI cable and a plastic transparent dock to place the computer into the optimal position.

The System BIOS

The Giada i35G comes with a Phoenix BIOS and we do not have a lot of options that we can customize; the menus are split in multiple tabs like Main, Advanced, Security, Boot or Exit; in the Main tab we can set up the current date/time and see some details regarding the currently installed hardware; also here we will be able to see the currently installed BIOS version:

Next, we have the Advanced tab, were we can customize the SATA interface options, see the Hardware Monitor options, enable/disable the splash screen or set other power management options:

SATA menu allows us to enable or disable the controller, set it’s mode and find out what is installed on the available ports:

From the Hardware Monitor sub-section, we’ll be able to set fan profiles, see the live CPU temperature and fan speed:

In the Security tab, we can set admin and user passwords:

The Boot menu allows setting the priority of the boot devices:

Finally, we have the Exit menu, where we can save/discard or load setup defaults:
