AMD Lynx Platform (Llano A6-3650 CPU, ECS A75F-A Motherboard) Review

Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2011-09-06

The AMD Lynx Platform comes at a decent price and offers DX11 compatible integrated graphics, which is more than enough for performing some of the daily tasks or watching HD multimedia content. For increasing the 3D performance even further, we can either overclock the APU or buy a separate graphics card from the supported models (RADEON HD 6400, 6500 or 6600 Series).

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

The ECS A75F-A (Black Deluxe) motherboard is shipped inside a medium sized box with a plastic handle; on the frontal side we can find many logos with the product highlights, along with a sticker which tells us the DDR 2133 memory speed is supported:

On the back side we can see the main product features, along with a small motherboard photo:

The box contents are split in two compartments; the top compartment holds the documentation, and the bottom one contains the main product, along with its bundle:

The product bundle in this case consists of:

-I/O Shield

-5 SATA cables

-General Assembly Guide

-User's Guide

-DVD with drivers and applications

The motherboard is fully wrapped inside an anti-static bag:

The motherboard retains the same color scheme as the previously reviewed boards from ECS; the cooling system does not have fancy designs or logos and the solid capacitors are present only in the VRM areas:

The CPU VRM is covered by a small heatsink, that is kept fixed with push-pins:

On the left side we can find the Realtek RTL8111E Single-Chip Ethernet Controller:
