Foxconn AHD1S "AMD APU Onboard" Motherboard Review

The Foxconn AHD1S motherboard comes equipped with one of the latest APUs from AMD, the E-350 with RADEON HD 6310 Integrated Graphics, much more powerful than the Intel Atom + Ion 2 offerings, in all productivity applications and games. The motherboard does also feature a completely passive cooling system, so it will not add any extra noise to our setup.

A Closer Look Continued

The Realtek RTL8111E Single-Chip Gigabit Ethernet Controller can be found near the two USB 2.0 headers:

 

 

 

On the same side we can find the Realtek ALC662, which is a 5.1 Channel High Definition Audio Codec:

 

 

 

On the top left side of the PCB, we can find the 4-pin ATX 12V header, along with the blue COM header:

 

 

 

A red Front Audio header can be found between the LAN controller and the audio Codec:

 

 

 

Also, a SPDIF_OUT header is located on the bottom side of the PCB:

 

 

 

On the bottom, we can find the Front Panel header, one PCI-Express x16 slot, two SATA ports, and a 4-pin fan header:

 

 

 

The CIR header can be found between the 24-pin ATX power header and the memory slots:

 

 

 

A buzzer header can be located on the top right side of the PCB:

 

 

 

The only inconveniently placed component on this motherboard is the second 4-pin fan header, right under the CPU heatsink:
