How to build your own external VFD / LCD

If you want to show off with your case, you´d better have a funky looking LCD, or even better, a VFD mounted on your case. They´re pretty, 1337 and above all: usefull. You can display your proc temps, date, uptime, latest news on CNN/TomsHW or even get a notice when you receive new email. That´s great, but it´s not that handy when you have to watch at your case if you want to read your display... most ppl watch their monitor only. People with better tools and more patience than me, should be able to make a far more prettier holder, but I'm only giving some pointers on how to do it: I don't say mine is the best. Every casemodding-project is unique... :^)

I'd recommend LCDsmartie easy to use and a lot of options
Winamp LCD plugin is a must see too, really cool equalizer
