Mounting a Prometia or Vapochill on AMD A64/FX51
In due time CPU kits will be offered from both nVentiv and Asetek for the the AMD A64/FX51 motherboards.
But for those of us that donīt want to wait, we must improvise! This guide will show how I mounted my Prometeia/nVentiv cooling system onto my Athlon 64 setup.

The following is NOT a step-by-step guide and is only offered as a suggested means of mounting for the AMD A64/FX51.

Items needed:
  • #6-32 threaded rod cut to two 4" lengths (two #6-32 4" pan head screws can also be used)
  • Four #6 locking washers
  • Four #6 nuts
  • Two #6 wing nuts
  • 1/4" closed cell foam insulation (I used pipe wrap insulation for 1/2" pipe)
  • Seal string (VapoChill users this can be purchased at NAPA auto parts)
  • 1/4" sheet of Plexi glass**

    Tools needed:
  • Jig saw with blade for cutting Plexi glass
  • Drill with 1/8" bit
  • Pliers
  • Straight edge razor blade

    Templates for the hold down brackets, they are not to scale but measurements are correct.
