A few tests, short and sweet.
The results
Instead of boring you with pages of graphs, I decided to put all the results in a nice table, take a close look at the maximum FSB reached at which timings, and just for reference I ran all sticks at SPD settings to see how they perform when someone relies on the automatic SPD-system to select their “memory timings”.

The budget line Mushkin is able to redeem itself on the Intel test setup, using relative strict timings it pushes onwards and passes the PC3700 mark, delivering top notch performance. While we didn’t notice a big difference between the two Golden Dragon sticks on the AMD platform, we see here that the picture is painted differently. To obtain good results with the PC3200 Golden dragon we had to relax the timings, the PC3700 really shines when further decreasing the timings to CL2.5 4-4-7, the memory refused to run at any decent speed when I used CL2.5 3-3-7. OCZ however had no problems reaching 250 MHz at these timings and can easily be crowned as the winner in this round. Geil’s PC3500 platinum performed good enough to keep up with the pack while the TwinMOS once again showed it value and took 3rd spot in the “ranking”!
With all the testing done on both platforms it’s time to show you a quick round-up of the best ram out there, turn the page ->
