DFI nForce4-DAGF Motherboard OC Preview
DFI nForce4-DAGF Motherboard OC Preview
I recently got my hands on a new motherboard, the nForce4-DAGF is a budget minded solution from DFI as it goes on sales for less then 110USD, let?s see if it has DFI?s great OC blood.

  Test Platform Configuration

  • AMD K8 939 3000+ 0441SPMW
  • DFI nF4-DAGF
  • GSkill 512LA
  • Leadtek PX6200TD
  • Maxtor 30GB 5400rpm
  • DELTA 300W

Let's check the BIOS first, the CPU Frequency and Voltage Control is most important as it can make or break your overclocking attempts.

  • CPU max: can be increased up to +0.45v over default
  • DDR max: 3.2v, adequate for most DDR sticks, although

The RAM tweaking options are not as extensive as on the LAN Party board, but compared to most of the other motherboards out there, this DAGF offers plenty to tweak.

    Overclocking Results

    Basic Test, with 2x256MB at DDR600 1T 2.6V reached

This is a pretty good CPU with only 1.47V 2.6Ghz reached

  • PX6200TD modified to 8 pipes, complete test of 3Dmark2003 at default speeds of 300/500, the extra pipelines up the score quite a bit:

    Conclusion:

If DFI can make the user manual a bit more extensive I'm convinced that the nF4-DAGF can be the value board, certainly at this price, which packs quite an OC punch. DFI is coming after MSI here!

So for those users out there who don't have a high budget, this board is great news.

DO NOTE: This version is not the final release version. The test results obtained here are for reference only. Let's hope that the retail version can reach even higher speed.
