OCZ Vendetta 2 CPU Cooler Review
OCZ Vendetta 2 CPU Cooler Review
OCZ has released a revised version of their Vendetta CPU Cooler; this second generation features a larger 120mm fan and also Direct-Touch-Heatpipe design, maximizing performance at acceptable noise levels!   Introduction

We tested the original OCZ Vendetta last year, it was a compact tower heatsink with 92mm fan, its most striking feature being the direct contact of the 3 heat pipes with the CPU.

Today we test the Vendetta 2 from OCZ, it also features the same direct-heatpipe-touch approach but the heatsink is much larger and equipped with a 120mm fan this time around.

Time to find out how much a difference the extra aluminium and copper really makes, and if the larger cooling fan offers a better performance/noise ratio.

Specifications & In the Box

The Vendetta 2 is very similar to the Vendetta (1), they both share the same package design and package contents;

Madshrimps (c)

  • For Sockets AMD 754/755/939/AM2, Intel LGA775*
  • 3 Pure Copper heat pipes for superior heat dissipation
  • Pure Aluminum fins for ultimate durability
  • Heatsink Dimensions:(W)120 x (D)50 x (H)159mm
  • Mounting Hardware for all above CPUs
  • Thermal Compound

    * Although the Vendetta has been qualified for these processors for performance and compatibility, it may not fit some motherboards

  • Inside the package you’ll find an instruction manual for both AMD and Intel platforms, a small plastic bag of thermal paste, mounting hardware for the heatsink and the fan.

The included fan is a re-badged unit, the product name reveals the original manufacturer as Arctic-Cooling AF12025 PWM, this is a popular fan as the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 also uses this fan, this should come as no surprise as they share the same original design.

    Madshrimps (c)

  • Rated Voltage: 12V DC
  • Fan Speed: 800-1500 RPM
  • Fan Air Flow: 65-81 CFM
  • Noise Level: 20-32 dBA
