CrossFire, Scalable Link Interface, ... for quite some time now we have multi GPU solutions available, now after multiple releases of mainstream video cards both video card manufacturers NVIDIA and AMD bring us a dual GPU mainstream solution to compete in the high-end market segment. Today well be looking at the dual RV670 based HD3870X2 from Jetway and HIS and well be comparing it with the original HIS HD3870 Turbo configured in CrossFire.  HIS (Hightech Information System Limited) is an internationally acclaimed graphics cards company founded back in 1987. Their mission to produce the highest quality graphic cards in the industry took a dramatic turn with the release of the Excalibur in 2002, followed by the release of IceQ I & II series in 2003. Since then, this product has been the limelight in the market for its outstanding performance and features over the other rivals. The product we're reviewing here today, the HIS HD3870X2 1GB, is based on the ATI reference design and does not come with any special features, have a look:  HIS HD3870 X2 PCI-E 1GB 512-bit (2 x 256bit) GDDR3 | Core clock: 825MHz | Memory clock: 1800MHz  Jetway (provided by Dollarshops) might sound unfamiliar for some people, though ranked as fifth most valuable Taiwanese company it is in fact one of the bigger players out there. Their brand exists for over 20 years now and has not only been focusing on VGA cards and mainboards, they are also knowledge in building barebone PCs, LCD's, pen drives, ... Quality and performance on a Jetway to the future? Well maybe... for now just let us have a look at the Jetway Radeon HD3870X2 1GB video card, also equipped with the ATI stock heatsink:  Jetway HD3870 X2 PCI-E 1GB 512-bit (2 x 256bit) GDDR3 | Core clock: 825MHz | Memory clock: 1800MHz And here are our competitors as found in real life:  A dual GPU video card, we compared it with the HIS HD3870 setup in CrossFire which is based on the same technology but comes with different clock speeds... and price of course:  Let us first have a look inside the box ->  More reviews in this category can be found below: |
