  Introduction

We like to thank the following companies who made our trip to Cebit 2008 possible:

SanDisk

The Vaulter disk drive is designed specially for notebooks. It's something between a Solid State Disk and flash memory and ought to speed up your PC quite a bit. Note that this is only equally fast as a SSD when looking at the read speed.

The disk appears as a regular disk in your Windows operating system.

This small card can contain up to 16 Gb of storage capacity. It won't be available for end users, just for systems builders. This is because you need a special designed mainboard with the possibility to boot from the PCI express slot.

Here we see the IBM HS21 Blade server. This unit is featuring two of SanDisk latest products.

Most special to my opinion is the uSSD 5000? This is actually a small SSD. It can contain up to 8 Gb, and contains software to make the server accessible from a remote location. But it can also contain management software.

Here we see two naked 16 Gb Solid State Disks. They are squeezed together so that they only take the size of one 2.5" hard disk drive. Depending on the board settings it can be used as the separate drives or in RAID mode.

The SanDisk FlashBack Adapter is a flash card reader that needs to be installed in the PCMCIA express connector of your laptop. Now, what's so special about it ? It comes paired with (Windows Only) software. The software allows you to choose some files and folders that need to be back upped automatically. This way the risk for data loss will be significantly reduced.

Here it how it looks once it's installed:
