  Introduction :

Origen S21T is a high-end aluminum Home Theatre PC enclosure featuring a unique 12.1 inch motorized TFT touch screen for the utmost enthusiasts in Home Theatre experience; such feature can only be found in some server rooms. Armed with 120mm exhaust together with two 92mm internal fans, it accommodates both ATX and micro boards.

Origen; never heard of the name? May be you have heard of Uneed International, established in 2000 headquartered in Gyonggi-Do, South Korea not very far from Seoul across the Han river. Uneed rebranded as Origen-AE in July 2005 focusing on HTPC enclosure.

Today, we are looking into the top end model S21T introduced earlier this year; Origen has taken the route of more HTPC friendly Asian and European markets to establish it’s root finally made S21T available in the U.S. From what I’ve gathered high end chassis for gamers is forthcoming.

S21T is certainly not an ordinary HTPC we have accustomed to; other than the 120mm exhaust, it could house up to 10 hard drives and removal motherboard tray all sounded like an enthusiast chassis for the die-hards or a server for a small company. The motorized TFT touch screen of up to 1920x1080 resolutions will definitely enhance the experience in navigating any media presentations.

Undoubtedly, the S21T is not totally aimed at the DIY PC market but also the custom builders in home electronics and home theatre setups arenas. However, there are other HTPC cases offered by Origen to meet different levels of requirements and budgets; the recently released S16, S14 and S10 below are priced from about US$350 to $680. Both S and X series will have additional accessories support in meeting MCE and Vista requirements.

The X-series are priced from about US$270 to $640

The H-series are priced at about US$240.

Accordingly, Origen is working towards providing a completely end -user ready entertainments solution in the coming months including Touch Screen Desk/Wall mount monitors. At the mean time, S, X and H series products are available directly from Origen U.S.

For now, let's take a closer look at the S21T .
