Many cited that the P31 is a water-down version of P35; officially supporting 1066FSB and DDR2 rather than 1333FSB and DDR3. ASRock has been cleverly tweaking 945 and 965 chipsets to 1333FSB, and done so with P31. It has 4 less USB and 2 less SATA ports than the P965 provides, and ICH 7 instead of ICH8 found in P965. So, on paper the 4Core 1333-eSATA2 is not much better than the 4Core1333-Viiv Intel P965. When the price is right adding eSATA, Firewire and Raid, it does provide consumers the choice of another full feature low cost Quad Core ready board.
