  Introduction

FSP has been in the power supply business for several years now, building units for other companies, as well as populating their own line-up. Today we take a closer look at one of their more modestly rated models; the ZEN400 is a passively cooled power supply with a 400Watt rating.

FSP has adopted the blue color for their company logo, website and products; the ZEN series comes with an anodized blue finish. The unit is no light weight at ~2.9kg, as its body serves as a massive heatsink to dissipate the heat.

While the high end market is being flooded with 1000W PSUs, you’ll discover soon enough that you don’t need all of that power anyway; even the latest video cards and CPUs can be managed with less extremely high rated PSU units.

The ZEN400 comes with the necessary connectors to power the latest high end systems out there, although you’ll need a converter to get 8-pin for either motherboard or VGA Card.

Connectors & Specifications

FSP equipped the ZEN400 with the following connections:

Enough there to power a mid/high end machine, the 12V rail is split in 2, 12V1 being slightly more powerful:

Inside the packaging you get a manual with DO's and DON'Ts, a power cable, and the unit itself of course:
